Hero CVS pharmacist uses metal pipe to subdue robber until police arrive

A CVS pharmacist in Chattanooga used a metal pipe to subdue a would-be-robber until police arrived, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

The incident happened at 5:20 p.m. Thursday at 1150 Hixson Pike.

Pharmacist Tom Rawls told police 47-year-old Thomas Holland showed a black gun, forced his way into the pharmacy, demanded pills and told Rawls to drive him away, according to the release.

Holland sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.
