Call for August art at Shanks Center — July 28

The Shanks Center for the Arts in Crossville, Tenn., has issued a call for art for its August exhibits.

Two galleries will be open-themed. The third will have a challenge focus on "Black and White." Guidelines can be found at www.cumberlandart.com, the website for the Cumberland Artisans for Creative Expression.

New, two- or three-dimensional original visual works may be submitted for possible exhibition in the CACE galleries. Submission hours are 1-4 p.m. Sunday, July 28, and noon-4 p.m. Monday, July 29.

An opening reception will be held on the first Thursday, Aug. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Regular hours at the Shanks Center, 140 N. Main St., are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday (all times Central).
