BayBears win 2-0, end Chattanooga Lookouts' streak

MOBILE, Ala. - The Mobile BayBears beat Chattanooga 2-0 in Southern League baseball Friday night, ending the Lookouts' win streak at 10 games.

Rob Rasmussen continued Chattanooga's solid streak of pitching by allowing just two runs in seven innings, but Mobile counterpart Michael Bolsinger gave up only two hits in nine scoreless innings.

Chattanooga's numbers 2-6 batters were a combined 0-for-19 against Bolsinger as the Lookouts (26-28) saw their whopping 10-game winning streak come to an end.

Justin Greene's triple to left field in the third inning scored Ender Inciarte to put the BayBears up 1-0, and Mike Freeman led off the sixth with a single to center and came around to score the only other run.

The finale of the five-game series is tonight at 8:05 EDT. Ross Stripling (1-0, 2.45 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Brandin Hagens (5-3, 2.91) scheduled for the BayBears.

• The Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday assigned Sean Burroughs to Chattanooga and released C.J. Retherford.

Burroughs led Long Beach, Calif., to the Little League World Series title in 1993, and he played for the San Diego Padres from 2002 to '05, hitting .298 in '04. He is the son of Jeff Burroughs, who was the American League MVP with Texas in 1974, when he hit .301 with 118 RBIs and played for the Atlanta Braves from 1977 to '80, hitting .301 and drawing 117 walks in '78.
