BayBears edge Lookouts 2-1 in finale

MOBILE, Ala. - The Mobile BayBears edged Chattanooga 2-1 in the final game of their Southern League baseball series Saturday night.

Sean Burroughs went 0-for-4 in his Chattanooga debut, and the Lookouts (26-29) were held to four hits in suffering a second straight defeat after 10 wins.

Brian Cavazos-Galvez put Chattanooga up 1-0 by leading off the fifth inning with a home run to left field, but Mobile tied it later in the fifth and went up 2-1 in the sixth when a two-out single to left by Nick Evans scored Mike Freeman.

Game one of the Lookouts' five-game home series against Mississippi at AT&T Field is today at 5:15. Steve Smith (0-0, 8.31 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Cody Martin (2-3, 3.02) scheduled for the Braves.

• The Dodgers released C.J. Retherford on Friday after the Lookouts infielder violated Minor League Baseball's drug policy. Retherford was hitting .219 with four homers in 47 games.
