Chattanoogan Beth Kirby has been named one of 19 finalists on the fourth season of "Master Chef."

Kirby, 29, is a writer/photographer who attended Girls Preparatory School.

The finalists will compete in their first team challenge on Wednesday when "Master Chef" airs at 8 p.m. on Fox.

In order to become a finalist, Kirby had to survive a round of auditions and a "lamb challenge." For her lamb dish, she prepared "Lavender Hay Roasted Saddle, fried sweetbreads and celeric puree," according to a Fox news release.

In Wednesday night's challenge, the finalists will visit an elementary school to create a healthy meal for 300 schoolchildren. Two finalists will be eliminated at the end of the challenge.
