Tennessee Department of Transportation road crews will close the Interstate 75 ramp at Exit 3A (East Brainerd Road, SR-320) from 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday for concrete paving, officials say.

While the ramp is closed, all I-75 northbound traffic normally using it will be detoured to Shallowford Road (Exit 5).

The Tennessee Highway Patrol and flaggers will help with traffic control, and officials also plan to use message boards and "dynamic message signs" to alert drivers.

The work is part of a $606,517 safety improvement project scheduled to be completed this month. The private contractor for the project is Highways, Inc. of Brentwood, Tenn.

In the case of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, the work will be rescheduled.
