June 13: "The Smurfs" (PG)

June 20: "Hotel Transylvania" (PG)

June 27: "Ice Age: Continental Drift" (PG)

July 4: "Rio" (G)

July 11: "Horton Hears a Who" (G)

July 18: "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" (PG)

July 25: "Happy Feet Two" (PG)

Aug. 1: "Yogi Bear" (PG)

Aug. 8: "Disneynature: Chimpanzee" (G)

A 10 a.m. starting time may mean that a few kids get popcorn for breakfast when the Kids Summer Movie Series flickers to life for the next 10 weeks at four area Carmike theaters.

The series starts today, June 6, with "Despicable Me" and continues Thursdays through Aug. 8. All of the movies have G or PG ratings.

The $4 admission ticket includes popcorn, a drink and snack.

Films will be shown at the East Ridge 18, Northgate 14 in Hixson, Battlefield 10 in Fort Oglethorpe and Carmike 12 in Dalton, Ga.
