Chattanooga police arrested two men in a pair of shootings in the past week, according to arrest reports.
Cornelius "Dirty" Douglas, 24, faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault. His bond is set at $610,000.
Douglas reportedly shot 27-year-old D'Andray Thomas on May 31 in front of a residence at 2502 Judson Lane, records show.
Thomas sustained gunshot wounds to the left side of this chest. Thomas was shot after he left the residence when he heard a knock at the door.
Thomas was able to identify Douglas from photos shown to him, according to an arrest report.
Police made another arrest this week after 31-year-old Quentin Jones was shot in the leg twice on Monday at 3627 Dorris St. during an argument.
Darrel Jones, 40, faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, unlicensed carrying or possessing and attempted aggravated assault.
During an interview with officers, Darrel Jones, who had reportedly been drinking, told police he was trying to protect another witness he also reportedly assaulted, the report states.
"Darrel would not go into details about the incident stating that 'I was attempting to trick him,'" according to the arrest report.
Jones has a bond set at $215,000.
Both Jones and Douglas have court dates set for Tuesday before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Christine Sell.
Year to date in Chattanooga, there have been 53 shootings with 60 victims resulting in death or injury. At the same time last year, there were 41 shootings with 46 victims.
