Chattanooga announces added road closings

Added road closings in Chattanooga have been announced by the traffic engineering office.

They include:

— M.L. King Boulevard between Market Street and Georgia Avenue and Market Street between East Eighth Street and King Boulevard will be closed today from 5:30 p.m. to midnight for the Nightfall Concert Series. The 800 block of Cherry Street will be closed at King Boulevard and will only be accessible from East Eighth Street.

— Southbound Market Street from 17th to 27th streets will be closed Saturday from 11 a.m. to12 p.m. for the Southside Community Reunion Parade.

— Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park, will be closed Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Chattanooga Market.

— Closings in connection with the Bessie Smith Strut on Monday are:

King Boulevard from Georgia Avenue to Magnolia Street will be closed beginning at 1 p.m. and will continue to be closed until 10 p.m. to allow for setup, presentation and take down of the Bessie Smith Strut.

All streets crossing King Boulevard from Georgia Avenue to Magnolia Street and between Eighth and 10th streets will be closed from 1 to 10 p.m.
