A Whitfield County man is behind bars after allegedly running over and killing another man early Monday morning, according to a news release.

Just after 6 a.m., Whitfield County 911 was notified of a disturbance at a McDonald's on East Walnut Avenue in Dalton, Ga. Officers were dispatched to the scene, but before they arrived were notified that all parties involved had left the area.

A few minutes later, dispatchers received a report that there was a disturbance at 504 Gray St., only a couple miles from the McDonald's.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the owner of the home had been run over by a 1995 GMC pick-up truck in the front yard. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the release.

The suspect, Frank Scott Bozzie, fled the scene on foot, but was found a short time later by a deputy, walking down Tibbs Bridge Road.

Bozzie, 47, of W. Crawford Street in Dalton, was taken into custody without incident.

An investigation into the incident revealed that the victim, Horace Richard Morgan, 54, allowed an adult male and adult female to stay the night at his 504 Gray St. residence. The two adults left for McDonald's while Morgan watched the female's two small children.

While at the McDonald's, the female's ex-boyfriend, Bozzie, showed up and the caused the first disturbance.

The male and female left the scene and returned to Morgan's residence. Bozzie drove up in his truck and Morgan ordered him off his property.

Investigators believe it is at this time that Bozzie intentionally ran over Morgan.

Bozzie is being held at the Whitfield County Jail without bond on a murder charge, the release states.
