Mocs post strong APR numbers

Nine of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's 17 sports posted perfect Academic Progress Rate scores of 1,000 for the 2011-12 academic year. Men's golf and men's cross country had four-year averages of 1,000 for the NCAA's measurement of player eligibility, retention and graduation.

Every UTC sport's four-year average was ahead of the current NCAA benchmark of 900 and all but men's basketball (927) was ahead of the new mark of 930, which goes into effect next year. UTC has an internal benchmark of 950 and all but two sports hit that mark in 2011-12 and 12 sports had four-year averages above 950.

The averages are based on scores from the 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 academic years
