Golf Notes: State father-son tourney this weekend

State father-son tourney this weekend

Stonehenge Golf Club at Crossville is hosting the 34th annual TGA Father-Son Championship this Saturday and Sunday, and scoring will be modified Stableford for the 60 teams.

Defending champions Wes and Paul Korth will be trying for a sixth title.

Cleveland reset

A soaking storm in early May postponed the Cleveland Invitational until July 20-21 at Cleveland Country Club. Applications for the Chattanooga TPC Series event are available at the club and at www.IfYouLikeGolf.com.

Scenic City 18

The Chattanooga Times Free Press is seeking input from golfers, golf pros and others who enjoy the game to create the Scenic City 18. That is a project designed to select the best golf holes from courses in the area and combine them into ideal 18-hole combinations.

One Scenic City 18 will feature holes from private courses. Another will cover public courses from as far south as Calhoun and north as Manchester, as far west as Fort Payne and eastward to Chatsworth.

To nominate your favorite golf hole, public or private, please send an email to David Uchiyama at duchiyama@timesfreepress.com.
