The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department says it safely ended a hostage situation Thursday.

The SWAT Team and a Hostage Negotiation Team responded to a call in the 8500 block of Ooltewah-Georgetown Road. There, according to a press release, they made contact with the man, and he agreed to meet with deputies outside the house.

He was taken into custody without incident, according to the release.
