Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger said revenue in the 2014 budget is expected to be flat, and there will be an estimated 1 percent growth in property tax, which he says will amount to about $1.7 million.

Coppinger presented his proposed budget to commissioners today, during a scheduled agenda session.

Expenses within general government departments were also largely unchanged over last year, with the exception of increases in health insurance costs, fuel costs and mandatory promotions.

There will be no tax increase to residents of Hamilton County.

Commissioners will vote to approve or reject the proposed budget on June 27.
