"Rusting in Peace" is among the works in a photography exhibit by Sheila Silvus Chesanow on display at The Arts Center, 320 N. White St., in Athens, Tenn.

"Not Just a Snapshot" will run through Thursday, July 25.

The exhibit title reflects that photography is not only a means to capture her environment but an artistic expression of Chesanow's vision and emotional response to these moments in time. A book of her work, "Old Barns in McMinn County, Tennessee," is also available for sale.

A free opening reception with the artist is scheduled 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, June 14.

A coffeehouse-style concert, "Soft Sounds for a Summer's Eve," will follow with paid admission.

The Arts Center is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Admission is free.
