Singer Cee Lo Green is asking for forgiveness from Chattanooga for cursing during his recent performance at Riverbend.
In a video on TMZ.com, the singer/rapper said, "Forgive me, Chattanooga" after being asked about the controversy surrounding his performance, in which he dropped the f-bomb several times.
"I meant no harm and, of course, we're out to have some big fun, it's like a big barbecue," he said on the video.
Riverbend officials say they never used the word "ban" when referring to Cee Lo, but they did say they were disappointed that he cursed, drank onstage and mooned the audience. They said they thought that they had worked out a "gentleman's agreement" that he would keep the show clean.
In the TMZ video, Cee Lo also apologized for the late start to his show, saying he was only about "15 or 20 minutes" late. He went on a little after 10:15 p.m., 45 minutes later than the scheduled start.
Riverbend officials said weather delayed Cee Lo's plane from landing at the Chattanooga Airport.
