about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Let's take "not" out the Ten Commandments and insert it into the Creed--is a joke 300 years old or so. Yet the Creed and the Commandments are still around.

How dare this religious fanatic Jesus stick his nose into politics? Caesar is king, we don't need another. Let's crucify him to separate church and state. That goes back almost 2000 years. They thought Jesus was toast; but now Caesar is pizza. (Make mine pineapple with Italian sausage).

Jesus touched lepers and healed them. Dr Sabelius, call your office: the Christians have an appeal above your death panel! Jim Rutz in "Magashift" report miraculous healings of AIDS sufferers. In Africa. I hope San Francisco isn't racist.

JUST SAY NO

The symbolism of the limp sword aside, the GOP in the guise of a battle ready crusader is perfect. They attack everything the President proposes and they preferred killing the background checks bill rather than give Obama a political victory. They fight gay rights and immigration and unions, and voter rights and clean air and clean water, and that’s just for starters.

While they excel at accusations, time and time again republicans have shown they just can’t govern. Ronnie "Cut And Run" Reagan ran up a massive budget deficit and George W invaded the wrong country while running up an even bigger deficit than old 'C & R."

Clinton cut the deficit. Under Obama we've seen the biggest deficit reduction in over 60 years. The stock market is up, unemployment is coming down, and the housing market is beginning to bounce back. Republicans aren't trying to create big deficits, but it’s the price they are willing to make YOU PAY to give tax breaks to rich people.

Dick Cheney often quipped, 'Deficits don't matter.'

He was talking about a REPUBLICAN President.

Why is it that the hate filled bennett never has a cartoon aout anything good hussein obama is doing? Bennetts cartoons prove is he is another hate filled, intolerant hypocritical liberal who has nothing positive to say about his messiah, hussein obama.

10 reasons why liberals hate Christians.

1) Liberals are relativists and hate Christians because Christians believe in absolute truth.

2) Liberals do not want anyone to say that immorality is immoral.

3) Liberals are selfish and are more interested in their "feelings" then they are with what is right for others.

4) Liberals misunderstand what Christians really believe.

5) Since liberals see themselves as the superior enlighten ones they do not recognize that taking a position against their position is not automatically hate.

6) Liberals do not want to listen to what makes sense, they would rather listen to their senses.

7) Liberals ignore the clear evidence of the result of their philosophical positions influence on the last 40 years. It had been a social disaster and they do not want to hear it.

8) They see Christians as intellectually inferior.

9) Liberals see Christians as wanting to impose their religion on them when in truth it is the liberals who have used the courts system to impose their secular humanism religion on all of us.

10) Liberals are spiritually lost and blind to the truth of the gospel. Consider the following bible verses:

"But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." - 1 Corinthians 2:14 Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, the same has not the Father: but he that confesses the Son has the Father also. -1 John 2:22-23

Republicans are struggling to determine the future of their Party. Guys like Karl Rove, Chris Christy, and Jeb Bush recognize that candidates who win republican primaries are often considered too looney to win general elections. Lesson learned? Tea-baggers claim republican candidates need to be MORE conservative, more pure in their fundamental beliefs. That's why the GOP is marching proudly toward extinction. Party leaders have repeatedly said they would rather loose elections then their principles.

Don't lock them up (which is what happens now; free room and board, no work, not a bad life for a slacker).

Let's not put a judgement on behavior or any of that "moral" stuff; let's just make people responsible for supporting their children above all else, and let the chips fall where they may. And to the poster known as Conservative, always keep in mind that your opinions are never representative of any provable fact. They are merely your opinions. God never awarded you any authority to determine who can be a Christian and who cannot.

10 reasons why some self-righteous, self-proclaimed Conservative Christians (SRSPCC's) detest Liberalism

1.) SRSPCC's refuse to tend to maintaining their own souls based on their chosen beliefs.

2.) SRSPCC's refuse to accept that God created us all relatively equal, in terms of allowing us free will to determine our own individual platforms of morality.

3.) SRSPCC's are quite selfish, are totally lacking compassion for anyone but themselves, and have little, if any regard for others.

4.) SRSPCC's do not care what anyone but themselves believe.

5.) SRSPCC's see themselves as authoritarians, empowered by God to dispense their pearls of wisdom, and anyone who dares challenge their authority or wisdom, is automatically guilty of hating all Christians.

6.) SRSPCC's believe that only their beliefs make sense.

7.) SRSPCC's ignore the clear evidence that their philosophical positions over the last 40 years have been rejected time and again by most Americans and are responsible for the decline in religious belief in America.

8.) SRSPCC's are firmly convinced that Liberals are intellectually inferior.

9.) SRSPCC's refuse to understand that because SRSPCC's consistently attempt to influence others publicly with their chosen platforms of belief, that courts have had to be used to maintain secular standards, as well as individual freedom to accept and/or reject any or all religious belief, that has always been a foundation as it is outlined in the Constitution of the United States of America.

10.) SRSPCC's, unfortunately, arrogantly believe themselves to be totally spiritual, have a firm grasp on truth, and are only themselves capable of understanding that which can be read in the Bible.

What you would accept as provable fact? Anyone can make your statement apart from an example in hopes of sounding intelligent.

regarding your:

" God never awarded you any authority to determine who can be a Christian and who cannot."

Congratulations, you got that right! God gave me no authority to say "who can be a Christian," in the sense of how you or anyone can be saved alprova, for that authority is given by God and is so stated in His word and every one including you is invited to become a Christian and be saved from your sins-

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved .Romans 10:13

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved Romans 10:9

However, in another sense Christians are COMMANDED by Jesus to tell everyone alprova how they can be a Christian and be saved from their sins:

18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Mathew 28:18-20

mountainlaurel,

You refused to answer my question. You seem to believe that no one will go to hell. Correct? I based this on your two quotes. There are scores of Scripture references that teach that ALL men will not be saved.

If you will look at the next verses of Luke 3:6 you will see what you seem to believe is not so:

7 So he began saying to the crowds who were going out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits in keeping with repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father,’ for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham. 9 Indeed the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; so every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

These verses speak of judgment for those who do not know Jesus Christ and live apart from His teachings and the word of God.

Actually, I was just showing the lunacy of conservatives post. However, and to be honest, I've never met an individual claiming to be a conservative Christian who wasn't also intolerant and judgmental of others in some form or fashion. Not even close relatives, friends, co-workers and other associates. In some way, no matter how much they spoke of the love and compassion the religion commands of them, their intolerance and sometimes even contempt for others who were different racially, economically, socially, ethnically, religiously always flowed out in the most general of conversations.

There is a vast difference in a liberal Christian verses a conservative one, and they are easily distinguishable from one another. Liberal Christians are just more open, friendly and more worldly and accepting of others. Even others who are of a different faith or belief other than their own religion.

mountainlaurel,

Back to my question " Would you not agree that the majority of Liberals do not accept that a man and a woman living together in a sexual relationship is sinful behavior?"

I failed to say outside of marriage but I feel you knew what I meant.

Sex outside of marriage is often referred to as fornication in God's word, it is sin and it is forbidden. Here is God's judgment on such behavior:

9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither FORNICATORS, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1Corinthians 6:9-11NAS

People who have a lifestyle of sinful behavior do not have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ no matter what they claim. The above is not my judgment but the judgment of God contained in His word.

HECK OF A WAY TO RUN A RAILROAD

Joneses mumbled, “why is it you never say anything good about hussein obama? It must be he is that incompetent and you cannot think of anything good to say about your messiah.”

I don’t have much to say about our President, good or bad, but he’s light years better than both the GOP candidates he whooped. Light years.

Truth is, I registered conservative in 1970 and identify with the character Will McAvoy on HBO’s ‘The Newsroom.’ A republican who is sick of where conservatives have dragged a once proud political party. The beginning of the end came in 1980. Reagan was running against Jimmy Carter, a devout Christian who actually taught Sunday School at his church. In 1976 over 70% of self-described churchgoers voted for Carter.

Team Reagan struck a deal with Jerry Falwell and his ilk. In exchange for their support he would declare stuff like ‘the year of the Bible,’ and give them national support. Since then it’s been all downhill and today we see the results of that unholy political marriage.

Fundamentalists have hijacked the republican party and tea baggers are now so powerful they threaten the future of the GOP. The war on poverty has become a war on poor people. Intelligence has been replaced with Christian faith, and today republicans only stand for one thing: tax cuts for the rich. They see everything in political terms. They won’t support legislation that will benefit the country because they are afraid it will make the President look good.

What was the first thing GOP communications director Lush Limbaugh said? I HOPE HE FAILS.

===============

Now notice how you refused to admit directly that two people living in a sexual relationship outside of marriage is sinful behavior according to the word of God.

Regarding your "Would you not agree that any sin, as it may be perceived by man," part of a question:

The sin I have mentioned, fornication, is NOT my perception or judgment but that of God.

You think I don't notice how you try to make it my opinion and not based on the FACT of Scripture?

Yes, fornication will be taken up by God when he judges them and sends them to everlasting torment.

This is the judgment of God, why would I not warn you and others? Surely a parent would warn their child of harmful behavior, would they not?

Love warns others of God's judgment for sinful behavior. Conversely, one who hates another would not warn that one of destructive behavior.

You Sir, are not empowered by God to make any such determination or declaration. Any beliefs, relative to your own life, are strictly yours to hold and do not apply to those of anyone else.

This is what SRSPCC's never understand.

What anyone does or does not do that you consider to be sinful, is none of your business, nor will you have to answer to God for it, ever.

No one has enough understanding of the Bible or God himself, to be in any position to state with any certainty how God will judge any one human for what you determine to be sinful behavior.

"Of course there are other sinful lifestyle issues that Liberals would also deny being sinful, but like I said it is just a start."

And as always it will be, any lifestyle issues that you have determined to be sinful, will be between God and themselves.

God will not be consulting you for your opinion.

He would steal from the plantation owners and the armies of “northern aggression” and feed the war ravaged poor of any color, religion, creed, dietary preference, etc.... “except for the Irish”.

By the way I’m surprised that you could break yourself away to comment and how is the weather there in Greyhawk?

conservative wrote: "Now notice how you refused to admit directly that two people living in a sexual relationship outside of marriage is sinful behavior according to the word of God."

I have been very firm in my belief that the Bible is not the word of God. That aside, nowhere in the Bible does it command Christians to publicly condemn others for their sins.

And unlike yourself, I do not judge people, nor condemn them to hell for behavior that in no manner affects of offends me in any manner.

"You think I don't notice how you try to make it my opinion and not based on the FACT of Scripture?"

Your expressions are never anything but your opinions. Quotations from the Bible are not quotations from God. God did not author the Bible. Any "facts" taken from the Bible are representative of opinions of the mortal men who did indeed write them, many, many eons ago.

"Yes, fornication will be taken up by God when he judges them and sends them to everlasting torment."

That is merely your opinion, based on the opinion of others who believed the same thing. No one alive then or now, has had opportunity to know God's judgment until they stand in front of him to receive it.

You Sir, are one who consistently takes scripture completely out of context, cherry picks that which you believe, and essentially throws into the trash, scripture that contradicts many of your opinions and beliefs.

Debating religion with you is and always has been a waste of time, for you are so convinced of your own self-righteousness, your self-proclamations of Christianity, that when your own judgment day comes, you will not humble yourself before God.

No...you Sir, will prance up to God very much like a Clydesdale, attempt to high-five him, in the belief that your session will involve nothing more than a thank-you for your exemplar, sin-free life.

Mountainlaurel,

Please focus on these clear and simple words spoken by Jesus Christ:

13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.Mathew 7:13-14 NAS

The word destruction here is just another way of saying eternal damnation or hell. Notice, MANY will go there. Notice also, FEW will inherit everlasting life.

There is no universal salvation for everyone. MANY will reject Jesus Christ by their sinful lifestyle. Let no one tell you otherwise. If they attempt to, point them to these plain and simple words of Jesus Christ.

How do you even know what God's will is without God's word to guide you?

Where do you get your erroneous belifs about God? Was it all from your years of Mormon indoctrination?

I thank God that you have over the course of our discussions you have revealed that you have no idea what a Christian is.

I pray God will take the blinders off your eyes and that you will recognize your foolishness, repent, seek forgiveness and accept Jesus Christ of THE BIBLE as your Lord and Savior.

conservative, I am not going to be dragged into another session with you. It would be a complete waste of time, just as it always has been.

You are certainly entitled to believe anything you so desire, but your expressions in this forum will never, ever be anything more than your opinions.

Quotations from the Bible will never be those from God, no matter how fervently you believe them to be so.

No man alive today or thousands of years ago, has ever been in any position to know the heart and soul of God, nor has been in any position to know what it is he will do or has done.

Anything that can be read in the Bible is merely a collection of inspirational thoughts, with a few exceptions, written by men who were never in any position to know a thing about God.

And given the documented instances of those who have had a hand in altering the Bible, not to mention translating it into modern English, who knows for certain what, if anything we read today in printed copies of the Bible, is reflective of anything that God would or would not do to any one of us?

Your choice to accept very blindly, that which you believe to be true, is your choice, no question, but you have no right, nor invitation, to use the Bible to condemn the lifestyle choices of others.

That is between them and God.

Just released - 2016 Democrat Party Platform

One evening as the sun went down

And the jungle fires were burning,

Down the track came a hobo hiking,

And he said, "Boys, I'm not turning

I'm headed for a land that's far away

Besides the crystal fountains

So come with me, we'll go and see

The Big Rock Candy Mountains

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains,

There's a land that's fair and bright,

Where the handouts grow on bushes

And you sleep out every night.

Where the boxcars all are empty

And the sun shines every day

And the birds and the bees

And the cigarette trees

The lemonade springs

Where the bluebird sings

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

All the cops have wooden legs

And the bulldogs all have rubber teeth

And the hens lay soft-boiled eggs

The farmers' trees are full of fruit

And the barns are full of hay

Oh I'm bound to go

Where there ain't no snow

Where the rain don't fall

The winds don't blow

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

You never change your socks

And the little streams of alcohol

Come trickling down the rocks

The brakemen have to tip their hats

And the railway bulls are blind

There's a lake of stew

And of whiskey too

You can paddle all around it

In a big canoe

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains,

The jails are made of tin.

And you can walk right out again,

As soon as you are in.

There ain't no short-handled shovels,

No axes, saws nor picks,

I'm bound to stay

Where you sleep all day,

Where they hung the jerk

That invented work

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

....

I'll see you all this coming fall

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

Was that a question? I wasn't sure, due to the lack of proper punctuation.

For your information, the Smart Car has a higher safety rating in all categories, with the exception of rear end crashes, than do most American made autos.

"By adding the SMART car Mercedes can still build their high performance AMG series and tell Obama to go to hell. Those Germans are smart!"

However, you are not so "smart."

CAFE standards and rules are far different for imports. The number of imports sold are going to determine how many vehicles not meeting the minimum fuel efficiency standards will be allowed to be imported and sold.

What this means is that Smart Cars are going to have to become very popular in order to offset number of AMG line of vehicles allowed to be imported, which by the way are being altered to meet U.S. standards of fuel economy.

They are going to be neutered quite a bit.

But that's not something you are too worried about anyway, is it Maxi? You can't begin to afford one of them.

Wow, As usual, I made a huge impact in a small amount of time! I'm used to that. I live in a golf community, the driving range is less than five minutes from my home. I drive my own golf cart to the range, it's a nice life! Alprova, I have been making well over seven figures since my 30's and I have no idea what you are talking about regarding vending machines. I will say this, you are way, way off track. As far as Mercedes and the SMART Car which is made by Thyssenkrupp in Germany, the Mercedes plant in Bama is a customer of mine and they laugh about how they have solved their Obama enviro regulations problem. Alprova, you will never meet me because like I have said, the only time I associate with liberals is when they are writing ME a check and I won't accept yours or your wife's.....they bounce like Obama's budget. It has been fun schooling you losers. Obama is a lame duck and the mid terms will return sanity to our country. Don't forget to call about the immigration bill. As for losers like Alprova and others that spend their days and nights worshipping the retarded Army brat Clay Bennett...so sad man.......so sad. :)$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$Pride in yourself rules not Obama!

Another day, another series of rants from conservative. Say Connie, when you are finished trying to convince adults to give up sex...Sisyphus could use a little help pushing this boulder up the hill.

I know Connie would never waste his time with a "super heathen" such as me, but I'm just thinking out loud here. Fornication is a sin and the guilty will burn in hell. Simple enough, I get it. However, Lot ("a righteous man of God") impregnated two of his daughters in a cave while drunk on wine and he not only gets a pass but is revered by Christians. So "shacking up" is a death sentence, but a little drunken incest is not a big deal? I guess a good lawyer would argue that Lot was not guilty as Leviticus had not yet been written. Perhaps all fault is with those unscrupulous girls gettin' the old man all liquored up and having their way with him. Who the hell knows?

The B-I-B-L-E, oh it confuses me...

That would mean that if your story was remotely true, you would be a ember of the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club. The range closes at dusk, which was just about the time you claimed to be heading there. Oops!!

"Alprova, I have been making well over seven figures since my 30's and I have no idea what you are talking about regarding vending machines."

You Sir, are a lying sack of crap.

"As far as Mercedes and the SMART Car which is made by Thyssenkrupp in Germany, the Mercedes plant in Bama is a customer of mine and they laugh about how they have solved their Obama enviro regulations problem."

I'm sorry to inform you that Smart Cars are manufactured in Hambach, France. Thyssenkrupp Automotive makes car parts, but does not assemble any cars for any automotive manufacturer

When you first changed your nic to what it is today, you claimed to be the owner of three businesses in the food industry. I'm sure that many people have not forgotten your claim to be an heir to the Little Debbie fortune as well.

Now you can't fool me into believing that a man who owns three businesses would have the time you have to play online, but you dropped another clue to what you do for a living, just today.

You claimed VW and Mercedes as "customers." Assuming that your claim to work in food is true, the only food that VW and Mercedes would need, would go into vending machines.

You busted yourself this time, vending machine filler-upper.

So which of your claims was a lie? Or are you now going to claim to be engaged in some other industry?

You see, the problem with being a pathological liar, is that in time, one must start telling more lies to cover up the previous ones. I think you've run out of roadway on the trail of your lies.

"Alprova, you will never meet me because like I have said, the only time I associate with liberals is when they are writing ME a check and I won't accept yours or your wife's.....they bounce like Obama's budget."

Sir, I offered you five grand in cash to drive to my office in your '57 Chevy, with proof that it was yours. I don't know anyone, who is telling the truth of course, who would turn down five grand earned so easily.

You're so full of crap that I can smell it here in Northwest Georgia.

"As for losers like Alprova and others that spend their days and nights worshipping (sic) the retarded Army brat Clay Bennett...so sad man.......so sad."

Who's your hero?

Sir, beginning in the third quarter of 2007, right on up to the beginning of the second quarter of 2009, nobody's portfolio did well.

alprova...that is not an accurate statement. Some portfolios faired very well and some hedge funds made fortunes shorting the banks and other stocks. It is true those putting their money in mutual funds and letting some fund manger handle their investments took a bath. I would never trust anyone to manage my investments or leave me invested when I can manage them better and protect them from devastating losses by shorting stocks or buying insurance (put options) when the market gets all crazy which it may soon do again. Some say I was just lucky, well so be it as long as the results are good.

A wise man once said that the greatest revenge is living life well. Kudos to Obama for his $100 million dollar Euro African tax payer (Chinese) funded vacation. Alprova, I assure you that I too live life well. As a great American entrepreneur, P,T. Barnum once said....A sucker is born every day...Alprova, you are indeed a liberal loser socialist sucker that has bought in to redistribution socialism. So there you go. Enjoy your cheap lunch by yourself. Meanwhile, I'm teeing it up at The Honors Course tomorrow morning with three prominent Chatt City Government officials that will be very profitable business associates in the future. There will always be haves and have nots. Again, I have no vending machine businesses although such endeavors can be profitable. Food service is one of my ventures but I do have other divisions in diverse global industries. Let's just say, I have a Netjets card. India is BIG on my radar screen right now. Being a "have" along with living life well is the best revenge just ask Obama. :). Funny....I never see any SMART cars on I-24. Obama is the gangster Tony Soprano of our time. His time is slowly fading away. All of Europe knows that he is the puppet of the left. A new, true American leader will emerge soon and it ain't Hillary. I am very bullish on America. Socialism has been exposed as a losing cause. God Bless America and rest in peace Tony. Sinatra......still the best and he never used an EBT card! :)$$$$$$$$$$

Provocative, in an ironic sort of way for Bennett's position. Blessed are the peacemakers.
