Countdown on for St. Jude Dream Home giveaway

Sunday, January 1, 1905

The home at 3220 Hawks Creek Drive in Apison won't be on the market much longer. Its asking price? A $100 donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. But there is a bit of luck involved to become the owner of the St. Jude Dream Home, valued at $350,000.

The single-family dwelling, built by G.T. Issa Construction, will be given away in a drawing starting at noon Sunday, June 23. The festivities will be televised on WRCB-TV Channel 3.

Located in Hawks Landing subdivision, the 3,000-square-foot house has four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and an outdoor living space.

Ticketholders who don't win the grand prize have a chance at 17 other rewards, including four $1,000 gift cards for lawn and garden products, flooring, custom window coverings and jewelry.

Since the program launched 22 years ago, St. Jude has given away more than 300 houses around the country and raised more than $240 million in ticket sales, making it the largest single-event fundraiser for the hospital.

Proceeds go to help children battling cancer and other deadly diseases. Families pay nothing for treatment at the Memphis hospital. St. Jude covers the cost of transportation, lodging and food for the patient and a parent.

Tickets are available at any Regions Bank location, Ashley Furniture HomeStore and Gigi's Cupcakes. They may be reserved by phone by calling 800-750-6962 or online at dreamhome.org.

Tours of the home are available from noon to 9 p.m. today and Friday, June 20-21, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, June 22.
