Walter Gann

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will look into an inmate's complaint that he was beaten and kicked by Rhea County Sheriff's deputies after having been arrested.

TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm said Hamilton County District Attorney Bill Cox requested the investigation because Walter Gann was taken into custody in his jurisdiction.

Gann's complaint came after he was arrested on May 30 when escaped a Dade County Jail worksite and fled to Rhea County.
