An automotive supplier is building a new manufacturing plant in North Georgia and creating 300 jobs.

Inalfa Roof Systems is investing $17.1 million in the new Cherokee County plant, located off Interstate-75 and north of Atlanta, to build roofing systems.

"Our central location in the Southeast, deep workforce resources and logistics infrastructure have attracted well over 300 companies and continue to give the state a competitive advantage in this manufacturing sector," said Gov. Nathan Deal in a statement.

Inalfa supplies sunroofs and open roofing systems for auto manufacturers such as Hyundai, Kia, Ford, General Motors, Volvo, Chrysler Group and BMW Group.

The facility will be located off I-75 at Cherokee 75 Corporate Park in close proximity to automotive manufacturers throughout the Southeast, officials said.

"After a four-year search for a location in the South, we couldn't be more pleased to find our ideal site in Cherokee County," said vice president of North American Operations for Inalfa Roof Systems Danny Colaris.
