1 dead, 3 hurt in shooting

The four victims of an early Sunday shooting have been identified, according to a news release.

Investigators interviewed Jimmy McCane, 30; Ladarrel Bradley, 26; and Dominique King, 20, and learned the shooting took place about 3:40 a.m. at 1501 Dodds Ave.

The fourth victim, Demetrius Davis, 19, died at the hospital, the release stated.

The victims told police they were sitting in a vehicle when someone opened fire. McCane, Bradley and King suffered nonlife-threatening injuries.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned black male wearing a blue shirt.

Marion County investigates death

A Utah man who recently moved to Marion County was found dead along U.S. Highway 51 on Saturday, severely beaten and possibly struck by a vehicle, Sheriff Bo Burnett told WRCB-Channel 3.

The body of Jeffrey Mora, 31, was found at an abandoned building near the entrance to Raccooon Mountain, about a mile from the Hamilton County line.

WRCB said investigators believe a light green Honda CRV struck Mora, who was already on the side of the road, just before 7:30 a.m. and left him to die.

The body was taken to Nashville for an autopsy.

Family escapes Sapulpa fire

A family of six was displaced by a house fire Sunday morning on Sapulpa Street, the Chattanooga Fire Department said in a news release.

Several fire companies responded to 3639 Sapulpa St. at 5:40 a.m. Sunday According to Battalion Cheif Jeff Eldridge, the residents -- two adults and four children -- had heard a smoke alarm and already were out of the house.

Most of the fire was in the laundry room, and the flames spread quickly to the roof and other rooms, the release stated. Damage is estimated around $25,000.
