Business briefs: CBL installs Tesla chargers

CBL & Associates Properties Inc. on Monday launched a partnership with electric-car manufacturer Tesla Motors Inc., to install supercharging stations at malls in Florida, North Carolina and California. Tesla superchargers provide half a charge in about 20 minutes and allow Tesla drivers to travel for free between cities.

By the end of the summer, Tesla expects to have two dozen stations.

"We are confident that Tesla owners will appreciate the convenience of charging their vehicles at our well-located shopping centers that serve as a hub for shopping, dining and entertainment."

Athenahealth adds 500 jobs

A health care information technology company named by Forbes as one of the country's 25 fastest growing technology companies is planning to create 500 new jobs in Atlanta.

Gov. Nathan Deal announced Monday that athenahealth is making a $10.8 investment as part of its expansion and plans to occupy 75,000 square feet of the Ponce City Market -- a mixed-use space formerly known as City Hall East.

Founded in 1997, athenahealth specializes in managing cloud-based electronic health records, practice management and care coordination.

The company currently employs more than 140 people in Alpharetta and plans to move those employees to its Atlanta location in the next five years.
