Jackson County, Ala., announces two arrested on drug charges

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office in Alabama has announced the arrest of two Scottsboro, Ala., residents on drug charges.

Sonya Mcalpin, 45, was charged with unlawful possession of controlled substances (meth), unlawful possession of marijuana second degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Darren Holt, 47. was arrested for unlawful possession of controlled substances (meth), unlawful possession of marijuana first degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrests Tuesday came after Alabama Game and Fish officers checked a vehicle parked on a roadway. They located alcohol and about 8.3 grams of meth ice, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun.
