Lookout Mountain's Mary Alice Murphy qualifies third in State Women's Am

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Mary Alice Murphy of Lookout Mountain finished third in stroke-play qualifying for the TGA Women's Amateur Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club with a 36-hole 149, and Chattanooga's Blakesly Warren was in a three-way for fourth -- and for junior medalist -- at 150 after Tuesday's round.

They are among the 32 going on to match play in the championship division, starting today. Jordan Britt of Chattanooga and Jessica Cathey from Soddy-Daisy were ninth and 10th in qualifying at 152 and 153.

Jenna Burris from Manchester is seeded 14th in match play after a 157, and Signal Mountain residents Lauren Johnson and Sarah Dolmovich and Ooltewah's Maddi Everts also are in the championship field after recording scores of 161, 165 and 163. Everts faces Sarah Mathews of Memphis today, when Britt plays Tazewell's Lindsay Leigh Davis, Warren meets Knoxville's Kelli Pemberton, Dolmovich challenges co-medalist Courtney Chandler of Franklin, Cathey faces Nashville's Rachel Johnson, Murphy meets Livingston's Emily Miller and Burris takes on Clarksville's Hanley Lynn Long.

Manchester's Ashley Gilliam (162) and Cleveland's Linda Mullins (165) are in the first flight, and Chattanooga's Kristy Snow (173) and Cleveland's Lisa Daubner (174) are seeded second and third in the second flight.
