The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department has reported that lightning struck a house in the Dallas Bay area this morning, doing about $5,000 in damage.
The lighting led to a fire at the house, located at 1838 Cotter Lane.
Firefighters arrived on the scene quickly and were able to contain the fire to a wall in the house.
Jay Bell is the owner of the house, a news release said.
