East Tennessee youth group meeting ends in gunfire

KNOXVILLE - A 15-year-old boy was shot in the foot Monday night when an argument erupted in an East Knoxville parking lot at the conclusion of a church youth group meeting.

Jamarr Underwood of Knoxville was taken by ambulance to East Tennessee Children's Hospital after the shooting was reported about 9 p.m., according Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk.

The incident occurred outside the Community Evangelistic Church, 2650 Boyds Bridge Pike, police said. The shooting occurred after a Young Life event, police said.
