Man who shot woman from motorized wheelchair at Macon gas station gets bond

MACON, Ga. - A judge has granted bond for a Georgia man jailed since December when he fatally shot a woman from his motorized wheelchair at a Macon gas station.

The Telegraph of Macon reports 73-year-old Frank Reeves was granted a $100,000 bond after his attorney asked a Bibb County Superior Court judge to reconsider an earlier denial.

Reeves is charged with murder in the Dec. 4 slaying of 65-year-old Linda Hunnicutt. Police say Reeves told them he thought Hunnicutt was trying to hit him with her car and he only meant to scare her when he fired his gun.

Reeves' attorney, Veronica Brinson, says the judge agreed Thursday to grant him bond if he lives with family, wears an ankle monitor and only leaves home for court and medical appointments.
