Accident on Highway 153

The victim in Wednesday's fatal crash on Highway 153 has been identified as April Fryar from Soddy-Daisy, according to a Chattanooga Police news release.

The male driver was identified as James Floyd, also from Soddy-Daisy. According to witnesses on the scene, the light was just about to change red for southbound traffic and vehicles in front of Floyd were beginning to slow down.

Floyd did not reduce his speed, but instead swerved to the left into oncoming traffic. The vehicle was struck by the northbound tractor-trailer.

Charges may be filed pending the outcome of an investigation into the crash, reconstruction and blood analysis of the drivers involved, the release states.
