Campus composers featured at UTC

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Music Department will present its Campus Composers Concert, coordinated by Jonathan McNair, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 25. The free performance will take place in Roland Hayes Concert Hall of the UTC Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine St.

Billed as "an evening of world-premiere performances," the concert will showcase compositions by talented UTC musicians who will either conduct or perform their own arrangements. Music for voice, piano, brass and string instruments are included in these performances.

Among participating students are composer/pianist Ethan McGrath, a recent winner in the Concerto Competitions at UTC and Southern Adventist University; composer/vocalist Skyy Bigford; violinist/pianist/composer Isaac Hinchman; saxophonist/composer DeAndre Mercer; Claus Crasselt, an exchange student from Germany; and tubist/band director/composer Angelo Kortyka, a graduate student who teaches at Central High School.
