Little Owl festival offers music, arts, birds of prey

Music on two stages, birds of prey on display and a fenced area full of games and activities for children are among the highlights of the second annual Little Owl Music & Arts Festival, scheduled Saturday, March 23, at Audubon Acres.

The all-ages celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the historic East Brainerd property at 900 Sanctuary Road.

Save Our American Raptors will be showing its rescued owls and other raptors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fifty vendors and exhibitors will have arts, crafts and other wares on display, and local businesses will supply food.

Activities will include American Indian storytelling, a long-rifle demonstration, dance stage, student art contest, face painting, petting zoo, costumed volunteers and tours of the historic Spring Frog Cabin.

Featured performers include Roger Alan Wade, Dalton Roberts, Jerre Haskew, Troy Underwood, Peggy Douglas, Joseph Ridolfo, Robin Burk, Lana Sutton, Ginnie Sams, Ray Zimmerman, Jessica Kitchens and Alan Simmons. Master of ceremonies is Michael Gray.

Admission is $7 per person, $15 per carload; free for children 5 and younger.
