Susan Crownover has stepped down as GPS’ basketball coach

After one of the most successful girls’ basketball tenures in area history, Susan Crownover has stepped down as GPS’ basketball coach.

In her nine seasons as the Bruisers coach, Crownover led the program to two Division II state championships and they were perennial state tournament contenders.

She has also coached the softball program to seven D-II state titles, and will continue coaching that sport.

“I’ve enjoyed m y time as basketball coach here and watching the girls grow and I feel like we’ve done things the right way,” Crownover said. “It’s just time for me to step aside and focus on one sport for a while.”
