Barry Courter has a 23-year-old son who is a college graduate and a 19-year-old daughter who is a freshman in college.

Q: Dad, what's a lesson you learned later in life?

A: I was thinking about this the other day. It actually came from UTC professor Joanie Sompayrac. I'm paraphrasing, but she told a junior high school class to be aware of, kind to and honest with the people they knew at the moment and the ones they would meet in the next few years because those are the people who could very well one day be their colleagues and bosses. It seemed so obvious and true, but most good advice is.
