Free meter parking will take place Friday in Chattanooga

The Chattanooga Parking Authority has said there will be free meter parking on Friday as part of the Good Friday holiday observance.

Paid parking for all street meters will also be suspended for these other holidays this year:

— Memorial Day (Monday, May 27, 2013)

— Independence Day (Thursday, July 4, 2013)

— Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 2, 2013)

— Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013)

— Christmas Day (Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013)

The parking authority said, however, that parking in an unlawful area or manner (bus or loading zones, yellow curb, no parking, handicap space, Fort Wood Residential District, etc.) is enforceable 24 hours /7 days a week.
