Steve Bebb

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

ROTFLMAO! Great one, Clay. So Bebb is guilty of criminal stupidity and nothing else? Then they didn't look hard enough for evidence.

An earlier article referenced the courts ruling......

"A Tennessee Supreme Court opinion stating that a district attorney general "is answerable to no superior and has virtually unbridled discretion in determining whether to prosecute and for what offense."

Wonder if the state DA is relunctant to pursue prosecuting another DA and setting a precedent that may come back to haunt him?

Ah hell boys its the good ole boy system. If this blatant crook can't be prosecuted than no one should be.

When the Chattanooga Grand Jury did'nt indict rouge cop Emmer i knew nothing is really going to be done except for the payouts on the lawsuits.

Good job Chattanooga Times Free Press for bringig this to print, it could not have been easy. Keep up the good work and kudos to the excellent reporters. Prisons, Goverment, Cops ETC.

Surely this website must be broken more than usual to only have five comments!

I thought for sure this guy was going to be breaking rocks in the hot sun next to Billy Long. Bebb is either very stupid and very lucky, or he is smart and has friends in high places.

Leaf - I think most people are done with Easy123 being so confrontational to the point they can't have reasonable dialog. I wouldn't be surprised if advertisers don't start running in droves.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Very few here want to engage in reasonable dialogue, you included. You and your ilk would rather spew your misinformation and lies without being confronted. I won't stand for that.

If you can't accept criticism, support your beliefs, or accept facts, what good is your opinion anyway? It's not my fault that you and your ilk are so easily butt-hurt.

Why would advertisers run away from a cartoon comments section that averages over 100+ comments a day?

chatt_mann, don't be so melodramatic. Today's topic doesn't pertain to many people who frequent this forum, and Easy123 is hardly the only confrontational figure around either.

We all confront or comment on what others dump in here. Some do it more than others, and advertisers don't give a yin-yang what people do on comment pages. They care about circulation.

I agree, and it ain't lookin good for TFP. I read in another online news article that TFP has been told by WEHCO that ad revenue cannot sustain the paper and that are going to have to turn to subscribers to make it up, in other words increasing subscription rates. Sounds more like a death spiral.
