The McLean Group LLC, a national independent investment bank, is expanding its reach in the Southeast with the addition of managing director Jack Zollinger in Chattanooga.
Zollinger, who has 22 years of private company ownership and extensive merger and acquisition experience, will focus on providing business owners with merger and acquisition and other advisory services primarily in the maritime, transportation, logistics, defense and industrial sectors.
"Although we are headquartered in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region, having M&A experience in Chattanooga and nearby Nashville, Knoxville, Birmingham, Huntsville and Atlanta is a plus for clients," said Dennis Roberts, founder and a principal of The McLean Group.
Allstate Insurance Co. continues to expand in Tennessee with the opening of a new agency in Sweetwater.
Owned and operated by Callie Brackett, the full-service agency offers a complete line of products and services, including auto, property, commercial and life insurance, long-term care and annuities.
Brackett is a long-time resident of Sweetwater, having lived in the area for 33 years. She is a graduate of Sweetwater High School, Hiwassee College and Maryville College. Brackett is also a notary public.
"My knowledge and understanding of the people in this community will help me provide customers with an outstanding level of service," she said.
Fisher & Arnold, a Memphis-based architectural and engineering firm serving the utility industry, has opened an office in Chattanooga at 1206 Broad St.
Ron Owens, who retired from TVA after 36 years as vice president of customer service, is the branch manager for the new office. Established in 1983, Fisher & Arnold operates branch offices in Nashville, Union City and Chipley, Fla.
"We are growing our business in East Tennessee, as well as in Georgia and Alabama and we wanted to establish more of a presence here to serve our clients," Owens said.
The BelkGives on the Go Mobile Mammography Center, a 39-foot-long screening center on wheels, will stop in Cleveland, Tenn., and Chattanooga in April to offer free mammogram screenings.
Women age 40 and over with no breast concerns and who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months are eligible by calling 855-655-BMMC (2662) to schedule an appointment. Tanya Baldree Mazzolini, a 27-year associate of Life Care Centers of America, has been promoted to vice president of accounting for the company, moving up from the position of director of corporate accounting.
Beecher Hunter, the company's president, said Mazzolini's "professional skills, her can-do spirit, and her proven leadership made her advancement to the VP level an easy call."
Recommendation for the promotion was made by Steve Ziegler, chief financial officer, and Terry Henry, senior vice president of accounting.
Chattanooga-based Hutton Co., has promoted Spencer Chinery to chief financial officer.
He joined the company in December 2011 as vice president of financial services. He will oversee all aspects of accounting, finance and technology for the Hutton Co. and Hutton Construction Inc.
"Spencer has proven to be an invaluable member of our team," said Geoff Smith, president of the Hutton Co. "His leadership skills are exceptional and he has taken our accounting, financial reporting, and the integration of information technology to a higher level."
Andrew Cook, of HHM Wealth Advisors, has been awarded the accredited investment fiduciary designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies.
The AIF designation signifies specialized knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care.
The designation is the culmination of a rigorous training program, which includes a comprehensive, closed-book final examination under the supervision of a proctor, and agreement to abide by a code of ethics.
First Volunteer Bank has added Nancy J. Collum, Cindy L. Rix, M. Jack Shelton and Brandon R. Sykes.
Collum has assumed the role of credit administration manager. Most recently, she served as vice president of loan review at a local community bank.
Rix is a new mortgage originator, joining First Volunteer from a regional bank where she served as a mortgage consultant and sales manager for eight years.
Shelton is the manager of the residential mortgage department and most recently served as a home mortgage consultant with a regional bank.
Sykes is the new market leader for the Highway 58 branch, joining First Volunteer from a bank in Mississippi where he worked as an assistant vice president and branch manager.

The East Tennessee Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council has recognized EMJ Corp. as one of the leaders in the green building community.
EMJ was presented with two awards for the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Mount Carmel, Tenn., the Green Project Award, given to projects which are leaders in terms of sustainable design, construction and/or operation, and the Student's Choice Award, selected by a jury of students from the Knox County STEM Academy.
Receiving the award on behalf of EMJ was Clint Dean, vice president of construction, and Jonathan Horne, project manager.
Jerry Bohn, a financial planner since 1969, has opened an office in the Eastgate Town Center, Suite WS-4. Bohn, the prinicpal in Bohn and Associates, specializes in offering Medicare supplement and Medicare advantage insurance plans. He also sells other life insurance and financial products. Bohn retired from American Express in 2004 after working 35 years as a financial adviser.
