Belvoir Christian Academy's kindergarten, first and second grade students are true heroes in their efforts to help fight breast cancer here in Chattanooga! Recently, each grade at BCA, pre-K through eighth, was asked to decide upon a special charity they would like to support in our area. The kindergarten, first and second graders chose to hold a walk-a-thon to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Chattanooga.

Not only did the children hold true to their pledge but brought in donations totaling $1,027! According to Sheril Miller, development director of the Chattanooga affiliate for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 75 percent of this donation will work in the community to offer mammograms to those who may not be able to afford them. We appreciate the loving hearts and efforts of our special students who helped contribute this gift to breast cancer prevention, education and research!
