Scope: Construction workers are adding nine new craftsman-style homes to the Seven Lakes subdivision and have 13 others under contract. The homes will feature hardwood siding, granite counter tops and tile showers and will add to the 150 homes that already make up the gated community in Ooltewah.
Timeline: Some of the new homes are complete, others are just getting framed, and some are ready for Sheetrock. The unfinished homes should be completed within 30 to 60 days.
Future: The new homes are selling well, said Donnette Moore, an agent with Keller Williams Realty. Last year, Keller Williams sold 30 homes in the subdivision. She said the combination of a gated community, clubhouse, pool and a starting point around $200,000 makes the neighborhood appealing to buyers. "We can't keep them," she said. "We're really fortunate out there. Everything sells."
