Natural Body Spa and Shop Offers Mother’s Day Gifts, Skin Care Tips

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

Spring is in full swing in the Scenic City, and that means more time to play outside and time to start looking for that perfect gift for the special woman known as “mom."

Natural Body Spa and Shop, with locations downtown and in Riverview, is ready to offer guests help with both skin care and Mother’s Day gifts.

Spa Director Tiffany Ashley suggests giving your mom a spa service this year in which one of Natural Body’s 27 experienced therapists offers a service specifically catered to her individual needs, from beauty to relaxation or even pain relief. Gift cards can be purchased for any service or dollar amount.

“[Massage] is not only relaxing, but it’s also very therapeutic,” said Ashley. “It helps alleviate stress, which is one of the No. 1 causes or disease.”

Among Natural Body’s most popular services is its signature Swedish massage. Clients may also choose a deep-tissue massage among others, all ranging in length from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. Costs start at $40 and go to $115 depending on the type and duration. Regardless, the experience includes hot towel compresses and soothing essential-oil aromatherapy.

“We’ve been voted best therapeutic massage provider in Chattanooga for 10 years in a row,” Ashley said.

In addition to a feeling of relaxation and pampering, the benefits of massage include lower blood pressure, pain relief and an overall healing element to help create and maintain a good, healthy lifestyle, she said.

In the area of skin care, Natural Body carries a wide line of all natural products to both help protect skin from sun damage and create a natural tan look without the aging side effects that come with over-sun exposure. In that regard, clients may opt for full-body bronzing treatments by Xen-Tan priced at $45 or a BB cream by Pla Beauty cosmetic that provides sunscreen, moisturizer and makeup coverage all in one product.

To prevent and reverse the signs of aging, it is important to limit exposure to the sun and other damaging freeradicals. It is never too late to start a good skin care regimen, Ashley noted.

The spa’s staff takes pride in not only offering amazing antiaging treatments and products, but also educating clients on how to take care of their individual skin care needs naturally, she said.

More options for Mother’s Day gifts are available in the Natural Body Shop, including the Mistral line of high-quality European soaps and Lafco candles or house and home, all of which are encased in beautiful blown-glass containers. Natural Body also carries unique jewelry, accessories, lounge and lifestyle wear. For moms who would love beauty and skin care products, the spa’s shop offers Pla’s line of cosmetics and Eminence organic skin care.
