Mower mishap kills Bradley man

A 70-year-old Bradley County, Tenn., man was killed Wednesday evening when his riding lawn mower fell on him, according to a news release.

A neighbor found the man about 5 p.m. outside a home on Fernwood Drive, Bradley EMS chief Stan Clark said.

The man was dead at the scene. Details weren't clear, and the victim's name has not been made public.


Reward grows in Red Bank case

A reward has been increased to help Red Bank police locate and arrest suspects responsible for shooting two vehicles and injuring a Red Bank High School senior.

An anonymous donor has added $1,500 to the reward, bringing the total to $2,500.

"We appreciate this donor coming forward and assisting us with an increase in the reward amount. The police department continues to work this case, and we are confident that someone has information that will aid in the arrest of the those responsible for this crime," said Red Bank Police Chief Timothy Christol.

Teddi Robinson, 18, was first shot in her arm before the bullet struck her abdomen. She had to have her gall bladder removed along with part of her colon. Doctors also had to stitch up her large and small intestines after she was shot while driving in the 4400 block of McCahill Road on April 15.

Another vehicle had been shot at moments earlier on Morrison Springs Road, and a black, four-door sedan with four black males inside was seen fleeing the area, traveling east. No one in the first car was injured.

Police investigate Camden stabbing

A 15-year old male was stabbed Tuesday night on Camden Street, according to a news release.

Chattanooga police responded to 1904 Camden St. about 9:22 p.m. where they found the victim suffering from a wound to his abdomen.

Police said the victim was stabbed during a fight involving several people.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of the nonlife-threatening injury, the release said. The investigation is ongoing.


Juveniles face burglary charges

Red Bank police arrested two juveniles in connection with a burglary Wednesday, according to a news release.

Officers responded to the Normandy Apartments at 3501 Dayton Blvd. around 1:30 p.m. after the break-in was reported.

Investigators discovered a blood trail leaving the scene and called in additional officers to search the area.

Officers pursued a white male on foot to Cline Street near Berkley Drive, where the suspect was taken into custody. He was treated at the scene for injuries he sustained while committing the burglary.

Shortly thereafter, another foot pursuit led to Kingston Street, near Greenleaf Street, and a second suspect was taken into custody.

Both suspects are juveniles and face aggravated burglary charges through the Hamilton County Juvenile Court. Additional charges are pending.


Crash injuries kill Chattanoogan

A 23-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a crash on April 26, said Chattanooga Master Patrol Officer Nathan Hartwig.

D'Marcus Hall was northbound driving a Volkswagen Passat on Beulah Avenue when he struck a parked car. He fled the scene, continuing north to Virginia Avenue. He crashed a second time into a ditch, Hartwig said.

He was freed from the vehicle and taken to Erlanger hospital, where he died from his injuries on April 29.

Chattanooga police have investigated seven traffic fatalities year to date.


Two in custody following assault

Chattanooga police responded to an assault at a Howell Avenue residence early Wednesday, according to a news release. When officers arrived at 4304 Howell Ave., they found two adult victims had left.

The victims told police there were two men inside the house, armed with a handgun. Officers surrounded the house, and made entry when the people inside would not answer, the release said.

Police said Tyler Bruce, 21, and Joshua White, 22, were arrested. Bruce has been charged with aggravated assault and felon in possession of a firearm. White has been charged with aggravated assault.
