Chattanooga Police: Suspicious Brainerd Road package had no detonator

Authorities today continue probing an “incomplete makeshift device” discovered outside a vacant Brainerd Road office.

Chattanooga Police and officers and federal authorities who were called Thursday afternoon to check the suspicious package at 3116 Brainerd Road found that it contained no detonation mechanism.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives reported that the device was not a viable explosive device and posed no threat.
