Six inducted into Phi Kappa Phi

Six area students have been inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Membership is by invitation to the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors.

• Hoby Ashley and Allyson Nelson, both of Fort Payne, Ala., were initiated at Auburn University.

• Katie Hampton and Evan Mince, both of Fort Payne, and Crystal Craze of Valley Head, Ala., were initiated at Jacksonville State University.

• Bethany Webb of McMinnville, Tenn., was initiated at the University of Memphis.

The honor society has chapters on more than 300 college and university campuses in North America and the Philippines.


Collegians honored

• Jordan Bailey, son of Mark and Elizabeth Bailey of Cleveland, Tenn., has been selected to tour Ireland with the Northwestern College Symphonic Band May 22-June 2. Bailey, a graduate of Walker Valley High School, is a senior pursuing a degree in music ministry.

• Two area students received awards during Georgia Southern University's annual Honors Day Convocation. Megan Hunt of Rock Spring, Ga., and Tanner Parker of Dalton, Ga., received Outstanding Scholar Graduating Senior awards.
