Crim installed at Ascension Lutheran

The Rev. Jeff P. Crim will be ordained and installed as pastor of Ascension Lutheran Church, 720 S. Germantown Road, on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Rev. H. Julian Gordy, bishop of the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will officiate.

Crim has been serving as interim pastor of the 100-year-old church.

Prior to joining the ELCA denomination, he was a recorded minister for the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and served as a pastor in Indiana and Virginia.

Crim received a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Master of Divinity degree from Earlham School of Religion in Richmond, Va.

A hospital chaplain for Memorial Hospital, he is certified as a clinical chaplain and pastoral counselor by the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, has worked as a chaplain and bereavement counselor for Hartline Hospice, has been a chaplain for the Tennessee State Guard and Virginia Defense Force, and has completed a clinical residency in pastoral care at Erlanger hospital.

Crim and his wife, Danielle, live in East Ridge.

Relocation

• Bible Baptist Church of Hixson, an independent, fundamentalist church, will relocate from the Country Inn and Suites in Hixson to 1966 Northpoint Blvd. (behind O'Charley's Restaurant), in Hixson, effective Sunday May 12.
