Tri-state area awash with flooding problems

More than 4 inches of rain so far this weekend has left roads awash and streams spilling from their banks.

As of about 9 p.m. Sunday, 4.29 inches of rain was measured at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport, said WRCB-TV Channel 3 meteorologist Nick Austin.

The year's to-date total of 31.77 inches is more than a foot higher than the previous total, he said.
