about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Comments in this forum resulted in my occasionally watching some FOX news after for years not watching anything other than the standard networks (ABC, CBS, NBC). I have seen nothing that I would put in the dishonest category however, I haven't watched enough to say it doesn't occur. It does seem they report issues that reflect poorly on democrats and favor republicans but not inaccurately. O'riley seems OK but It is obvious Hannity has a republican bias. No network or news agency seems supportive of or willing to publicize libertarian principles.

Fairmon..... try LINK tv.....I too went years without cable but now I have moved into a house that has it and WOW it is enough to get anyone's blood boiling. Flip from FOX to MSNBC and the bias from both sides is apperant. But LINK tv has news from countries around the world and several documentaries such as Standing Army which cronicals the dangers of the military industrial complex. Another shows how the congress has worked with the FCC and alowed large corp to buy out local channels and control the information seen by the masses. Many who stand to the right would find the content offensive but to a Libraterian or any openminded individual the cannel is a good starting point in your quest for knowledge concerning world events. It is privatly funded so sitting through them begging for money every 15 minutes gets old but the content is quite eyeopening. Or course it could be said that it is an extreme leftist propaganda machine because of documentaries "exposing" the Koch brothers and the dangers of fracking along with Al Jazeree news but getting news brodcast from other contries gives a fresh perspective when compared to our entertainment/cheerleading shows that pretend to be unbiased News.

I haven't owned a t.v. for years, but when I have coffee with my neighbor she always has on MSNBC and all I've ever seen is Joe Scarborough for 3 hours and a bunch of GOPer's. I guess I've missed something, probably not. I've found more news (truth) from reading publications delivered to my home. This whole country has become brain-dead by eating all that Faux news from the "entertainment/cheerleading" shows. Bill O'Reilly has blood on his hands, ask Dr. Tiller's family if they think he's "OK", he's just more conniving and insidious than the rest of his cohorts.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecommunications_Act_of_1996......The Consumers Union also raises one other major point. The Telecommunications Act of 1996 did not foster competition among ILECs as the bill had hoped. Instead, of ILECs encroaching on each other, the opposite occurred – mergers. Before the 1996 Act was passed, the largest four ILECs owned less than half of all the lines in the country while five years later the largest four local telephone companies own about 85% of all the lines in the country.[24] The Act was claimed to foster competition. Instead, it continued the historic industry consolidation reducing the number of major media companies from around 50 in 1983 to 10 in 1996[25] and 6 in 2005.[26] An FCC study found that the Act had led to a drastic decline in the number of radio station owners, even as the actual number of commercial stations in the United States had increased.[27]

In the 2003 edition of his book, A People's History of the United States, Howard Zinn wrote about alternative media, community newspapers and the creation of street newspapers trying the break the corporate control of information. On that topic, he talked about the Telecommunications Act of 1996:

"...the Telecommunications Act of 1996...enabled the handful of corporations :dominating the airwaves to expand their power further. Mergers enabled tighter :control of information...The Latin American writer Eduardo Galeano :commented..."Never have so many been held incommunicado by so few."[32

Here's just a few examples of Faux News lies I could go on with 100 more all of which are in print. The Serial Fox News LIE About Drops in Net Worth Under President Obama Obama Being a Foreign Student The Lie? During the January 20th, 2012 edition of The O’Reilly Factor, Mike Huckabee (R-Fox News), indicated that Gov. By having the president release those documents, according to Huckabee, it would [...] Mike Huckabee’s Fox News LIE(S) of the Year – 2011 The Lie? In early March, Mike Huckabee (R-Fox News), told several Fox News Lies about President Obama. Once again, Fox News contributor, Sarah Palin (R-Fox News), continued her near fact-free string of appearances. On April 9th. She questioned why “President Obama would have spent $2 million not to show his birth certificate.” The Truth There’s really no proof (and there’s no doubt Palin has any) that the president has spent that much money trying to keep his birth certificate from being released. (First, the long-released “certificate of live birth” IS considered the official birth certificate in the state of Hawaii). But PolitiFact.com has conducted extensive research into the amount of money Obama, or his presidential campaign has spent trying “not to show his birth certificate.” “After we looked through court records and spoke to experts in the field, we found insufficient evidence to support the claim that Obama for America spent $2 million solely on birth-certificate-related work,” PolitiFact.com has reported. Palin should be ashamed of herself. (sources: PolitiFact.com)

Other major networks get things wrong too. This is also a discussion of double standards. Fox declares itself fair and balanced, but it is just as guilty, if not more, of skewing news or outright lies. Granted, they do have a limit-after all, they no longer pay Palin to be a talking head, and Beck was forced out (regardless of what Beck says, he WAS forced out-the man is a lunatic). Add foreign news to your daily dose-BBC, AlJazeera English, etc. for a more balanced view.

degage, I recommend you also take your advice and expand your world view. On a previous thread you showed a lot of misconceptions. There are ways to judge sources for bias. It isn't always easy-some sites hide their funding sources or affiliations. There are certain keywords to look for.

AlJazeera Ike? Fair and balanced? Give me a break! AlJazeera is about as biased as they come and yes I checked it out. BBC may be a good one to see what other countries think of us, and they don't think much of us or Obama.

As you say, some site hide their sources, that includes fact-check which is a couple that leans left.

May 5, 2013 at 7:58 a.m.
lkeithlu said...

Al Jazeera is a good source, degage. It is important to look from time to time at the US from the point of view of people vastly different in culture. No source is unbiased, and I never said any source was "fair and balanced". Only Fox claims that.

You would be surprised at how positive the world views us AND Obama at times. And you'd be surprised at what people in other countries criticize us for.

As for Fact Check, make sure any "fact check" always goes back to the original data. If it does, it is probably valid. Also, make sure that when a source is correct, even if from what you consider an opposing view, they say so, and if a friendly source is wrong, they say so. Obama gets Pinocchios on Politifacts just as other politicians do.

NBC Airs First Report on Gosnell Murder Case; ABC, CBS Evening Newscasts Still Silent Published: 5/2/2013 2:50 PM ET

"On Wednesday, NBC Nightly News covered the Dr. Kermit Gosnell case for the very first time, a whopping 44 days after the opening of the trial, and only after the jury had finished its first full day of deliberations"

"Gosk's report was also the first time that Big Three aired a report on the case on its evening newscasts, even as ABC and CBS's evening newscasts continued their blackout."

"Host Brian Williams warned of the "grisly subject matter" of the abortionist's trial, and noted that "there have been six weeks of testimony, much of it difficult to hear." Gosk picked up where Williams left off, pointing out that "what Doctor Kermit Gosnell allegedly did behind the walls of this clinic for years is too gruesome to describe in detail", and continued by spotlighting the "low-income" location of Gosnell's run-down clinic"

"Besides Guthrie's question to the President, the only time that the murder case received any air time on NBC was when conservative columnist Peggy Noonan delivered the first-ever mention of the trial on the Big Three networks on the March 31, 2013 edition of Meet the Press. Gosk's report, which lasted 2 minutes and 22 seconds, trails behind CBS's coverage of the Gosnell case, which has aired two full segments and two news briefs on the story. But the two networks put ABC to shame, who still hasn't covered the case on their morning and evening newscasts."

Actually, many media outlets reported the story when it first broke. But attention waned (the man after all committed crimes; this was not about legal abortion) and only Fox kept up the coverage until recently, when the blogosphere and social networking brought it back to the forefront. Our media outlets (yes, Fox included) focus on stupid, sensational stories like the Arias trial (who is Arias anyway), the Carnival poop cruise and Lindsay Lohan. The current coverage is both Fox and Huffington, as well as numerous local affiliates in the immediate area of the trial.

One thing to consider when posting about biased "news" coverage is that there are 24 hrs a day to fill. So even though it is on FOX doesn't always make it a "news" show. Most of the comments here use editorials from variouse sources to bolster an arguement but an editorial is an opinion not a fact.It may contain facts but that does not make it always truthful. Sometimes it is difficult to see the difference so like IKE has stated listening for recurring key words is a good start. Also folks like Hannity Maddow Mathews are editorialist (corporate prostitutes) towing the company line. They are paid to fain outrage and to twist every event in the world to fit a preconcived narative. Most networks have an agenda. Don't be so naive to say that one has a monopoly on misinformation. A good starting point would be to research the parent companies of each network and follow the money......

This is rewarded by access to "leaks" and "unnamed sources" from the government for reporters who toe the line including nice trips and invitations to press briefings for the chosen few. This past Thursday, Sean Hannity attempted to blame the President directly for "Christian cleansing" within the military, purposely ignoring easily verifiable information showing that the military implemented religious harassment policies in 2005.

Had Mr. Hannity, Fox News, and any and all staff had desired to be truthful, they would have found a more worthy organization to blame for the implementation of the policy, which equally applies to any and all variant religions.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation, founded by Michael L. Weinstein, is a civil rights organization responsible for pushing the military to adopt uniform religious harassment policies, basing them on the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

Both He and his sons were targets of harassment due to their Jewish faith while attending the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Mr. Weinstein stated, and I quote, that the target of his complaint was "a small subset of premilliennial, dispensational, reconstructionist, dominionist, fundamentalist, evangelical Christianity or just Dominionist Christianity."

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation petitioned the United States Congress to conduct hearings regarding what it alleged was the Defense Department's failure to abide by the Constitutionally mandated separation of Church and State.

The MRFF has advocated for and assisted thousands of active duty personnel and veterans who have contacted them regarding cases of religious discrimination, harassment and aggressive proselytizing by Evangelical or Fundamentalist Christians.

Despite the policy uniformly applied to all variant religions, the MRFF has records to prove that more than 90% of the complaints involve harassment by Christians.

Hannity and Fox News have another reason for ignoring the truth to this issue as well. An MRFF advisory board member, Glen Doherty, died in the U.S Consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012.

Michael Weinstein, related that Doherty "had helped me on many MRFF client cases behind the scenes to facilitate assistance to armed forces members abused horribly by fundamentalist Christian proselytizing."

Fox News and Sean Hannity would not dare to be guilty of relating facts involving the group responsible for pushing the military to adopt religious harassment policies while GWB was President, especially when one of its board members was a victim of the Benghazi attacks.

That would never fit the agenda that Fox News has to blame President Obama for anything and everything, thus they would rather lie than to be found criticizing a victim of Benghazi.

"Just the fact that you want to silence the other perspective shows how dangerous liberalism really is."

Show me where anyone said one word about silencing anyone. That is just another one of your strawman arguments. No one is trying to silence anyone. It's the lies, misinformation and overall bullsh!t that people are tired of from you and your ilk.

"As far as "lying" goes, believe me, we hear it everyday on 90% of the rest of the media."

If balance means to consistently lie to the viewers in order to counter truth and facts, then I'll stick with liberal journalists.

"Just the fact that you want to silence the other perspective shows how dangerous liberalism really is."

News is not about presenting "perspectives." News is supposed to be a dissemination of facts.

"As far as "lying" goes, believe me, we hear it everyday on 90% of the rest of the media."

Not one network, worldwide, has amassed a reputation, outside of it's core viewership of course, for being caught with their pants on fire, more times than Fox News. Not one.

"The gun control debate is a good example of 24/7 hysterical misinformation of the mainstream media."

You meant to say Fox News, didn't you? Not one person who has the power to do so has proposed seizing guns from anyone, yet Fox News gents and babes routinely characterizes the gun debate as a front to deprive citizens of ALL their guns.

Wayne LaPierre is a Fox News God. They hang on his every word.

Americans everywhere are SCREAMING for sensible EXPANDED background checks to deprive people from purchasing guns who should not have access to guns and a restriction of assault weaponry, but every single Fox News junky I know believes that President Obama is out to disarm America.

"They are a joke much like the liberal posters on this page."

The joke is on you Pal. You should become a Fox News host.

"Just look at the first post today which is just another typical liberal insult. That media is just Obama's bitch."

I seriously doubt that the person who expressed that opinion, something that some of you have trouble separating from facts, has any ties to the media.

So I must question what you based the above statement upon.

"90 % of the media just isn't enough for you lefties. YOU WANT IT ALL."

Excuse me, but Fox News and Matt Drudge routinely boast of their high numbers of worshipers. Matt Drudge refreshes his page every minute to boost his numbers, so there's little secret to his numbers, but Fox has a following about equal to the number of Republican/Conservative/avid anti-Obamans that exist in this nation.

About one-third or so.

Darrell Issa made an appearance on CBS's Face The Nation earlier today and revealed what these "whistleblowers" are going to reveal.

Do you know what it is all about? Testimony will focus on the talking points and how wrong they were during the first three weeks. Issa and company are basically controverting THIS NATION's public releases with the opinion of the newly elected leader of Libya.

Mohamed Yousef El-Magariaf is being hailed by the witch hunting Republicans and surviving consulate staff slated to testify this coming Wednesday as being more credible than our own U.S. State Department.

Mohamed Yousef El-Magariaf is "convinced" that the attack was pre-planned, which is not in dispute by anyone at this point, and because it occurred on a September 11th anniversary.

Will any of the testimony point fingers to any high level State Department employees? No it will not. Darell Issa as much as admitted it.

"It's taken this long because of the MSM being totally in the tank for Obama."

Blah, blah, blah...

Fox News is leading an all out effort to lay this at the feet of Obama and Hillary Clinton, and it will never come close, no matter how hard they keep punching.

They are preaching to the same choir of idiots who will never vote for a Democrat, so let them keep hammering, for all the good it will ever do.

No noose will ever reach the White House and that my friend is some plain truth for you to chew on like a plug of tobacco.

Easy, your post with the link to the 200 Youtube videos showing the bias, lies, misinformation and deceit from Faux News is as good as it gets for reference. I challenge any Faux News fan to take any of those videos and refute the lies or the bias inherent in them. One of the ones I happened to watch - I had also seen it when it originally aired in real time - was an interview with Jon Stewart, hosted by Chris Wallace. Wallace even admits to the obvious right wing bias but he calls it '"balancing the system." Stewart later explained, in his own cynical but spot-on truthful way, how the wingnuts who always whine about the so-called liberal media see the cards stacked so heavily against them: "Don’t you get it? The system’s unfair and unbalanced. To balance the system Fox News has to be the purest form of right wing resin…because of how heavy left wing America is: Hollywood, comedians, every single news organization, the internet, FACTS, HISTORY, SCIENCE…it’s all just left wing bullsh!t, man." They think that EVERYTHING, including facts, science, history, even the truth itself, is biased against them.

You want a clear indicator of how UN-LIBERAL our CORPORATE owned media really is? Go back and watch any footage of the run-up to the Iraq war. There was not the slightest bit of protest or dissent against it allowed on any of the major networks - not even MSNBC. Phil Donohue had a fairly popular program on MSNBC at the time and he was dismissed and the program cancelled because he was one of the few lone voices speaking out against invading Iraq. All corporations are conservative by nature and the ones that own the media are as conservative as they get. They do allow their programmers a great deal of leeway in how and what to report so the conservative bias is not always apparent (except for Faux News, of course, where it constantly slaps you in the face with it) But when push comes to shove, there is a definite conservative line that they will not allow to be crossed. It showed itself clearly when it came to Bush's lies about WMD and his phony reasons for invading Iraq.

There is no bigger deception being foisted on the public today than by those who constantly whine about the "liberal media." CORPORATE-OWNED and LIBERAL do not belong in the same sentence.

Regarding Obama and Social Security: I have tried to make excuses for Obama's undeniable conservative stances on certain issues, telling myself that he was only trying to be bipartisan, resorting to the game of playing politics with an obstinate and merciless Republican party who was dead-set on destroying him politically. But when I heard him utter those words about putting SS on the table and cutting into the COLA for recipients, that was the straw that broke this camel's back. On his stances on foreign policy, Wall St. and the banks, his lackadaisical approach to getting us out of Afghanistan and Iraq, his increased use of drones and his apathetic acceptance of Bush's policy regarding torture and homeland security, his refusal to even put up a fight for single-payer in the early stages of the health care debate, and now his caving on the matter of Social Security (he promised that he would NEVER even consider putting it on the table), he has given in once too often to the conservative side. He's a sell-out. To hear him in his campaign speeches and then see what he does and says when his feet are to the fire, he's not the same person at all. When I hear the righties call him a socialist/Marxist/communist, it's all I can do to keep from laughing. The guy is a moderate Republican from the old school! If the GOP had any sense, they would realize that he's the next best thing to having one of their own in the Oval Office. Remember when he so easily and quickly abandoned his long-time friend and pastor, Dr. Jeremiah Wright, back in the early stages of his first campaign? Well, when I saw how he so unflinchingly severed all ties with him, it was obvious that he was just another politician doing what he thought he had to do to get elected. Dr. Wright spoke the cold, hard, unadulterated, ugly truth about America and its past but Obama knew that it was a message that most Americans didn't want to hear, so he disassociated himself from him, to gain political points. I understood why he felt that he had to do that, but still, I didn't respect him for it. The man speaks in lofty terms about principle and moral fiber, but he does not seem to possess it himself. He is just another politician playing the game of politics to gain political points. Unless a truly progressive candidate steps forward next election, and has the background and credentials to prove their stance, I will not merely vote for the lesser of two evils again or make excuses for someone who purports to be a Democrat but constantly sells himself/herself out to the other side.

A clip followed of New York's Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo declaring: "Climate change, extreme weather, call it what you will. It is undeniable." Thompson did acknowledge that "when it comes to one specific event like Sandy, most scientists are more cautious." However, the segment only featured sound bites of climate experts making dire declarations. Liberals obviously don’t know the difference between News Commentary and Fox News.

And even the commentary on Fox News has opposing view points. Let’s name just some of the liberals that are consistently on Fox:

Juan Williams

Bob Beckel

Greta Van Sustern

Mary Ann Marsh

Kristen Powers

Alan Colmes

Marc Lamont Hill

Jane Hall

Neil Gabler

Geraldo Rivera

NPR’s Mara Liasson

Dennis Kucinich (When Fox hired Dennis Kucinich liberals labeled him as a "traitor")

This is by far not even a comprehensive list because it doesn’t include the non-regulars who do guest spots. No liberal can name five regular conservative commentators on MSNBC, CNN, CBS or NBC. Liberals cannot find a conservative ever on any of their programming, be it News Commentary or just the News.

Liberals are scared of the truth. Is Fox News perfect? Of course not. But it’s by far the best thing out there and they will report the truth – for the most part, about what is going on and they will present even the commentary with guests who have opinions on the other side of the matter.

This is more proof that liberals are afraid of the truth and do not want the truth to be heard.

Al, I can only hope that she will not be as centrist as Bill was. We have him to thank for killing Glass-Steagall and for the passing of NAFTA/GATT, two things that contributed heavily to our economic downfall. If she can learn from his mistakes and not be a clone of his overly centrist approach, then maybe she can be an improvement. We are at a crucial time when we do not need centrism, moderation, or even bipartisanship (unless by some miracle the Republicans change their tune and express a willingness to go forward instead of backward). We need someone with the vision and courage of FDR to stand up to the knuckle-dragging wingnuts and get us out of the mess that these ass-backward conservative policies have gotten us into.

Rickaroo, "He's a sell-out." That’s putting it mildly; he ‘souled’ us out. I was done with him long ago. After he accidently pulled off his mask.
Easy123, I’m really unsure about him ‘caving’. I somehow believe it’s all theater.

Even when he had the chance, with majorities in both houses of Congress, and mandates from the voters to act on restoring civil liberties, taking significant action against the banking cartels, ending the wars, indicting war criminals, backing unions in Wisconsin or defending American workers (KORUS & TPP) Social Security and Medicare, he did nothing.

Democratic apologists are still caught up in the utter fantasy; imagining that now that he has been is re-elected, and doesn’t have another re-election, he will finally show his ‘real colors’ and become the progressive they (we) voted for in 2008. Suckers. Obama is a chameleon; a corporate president who is happier coddling corporations, massaging the Enemy-Industrial Complex, and ignoring his base and the indigent.

He is – following orders. It is a deception.

The con job is pretending to be a nice smiling progressive trying to do the right thing, only to be stymied by the troglodytes in Congress. BUT, evidence clearly points to him actually helping those cretins by not fighting for a Democratic majority – or anything! The attempts to blame Congress is disingenuous at best and condescending bullsh!t at worse. Take your pick.

Instead of the ‘hope & change’ so many (me the first time) voted for, ie. a movement for real progressive change and accountability, America got a president who has little to show for his first four years in office, and now that he’s in his second term I fear he will deliver little more, except for perhaps more military actions, more assaults on the Bill of Rights, and more undermining of the nation’s already shredded social safety net; while setting himself above the law and accountable to no one.

In hindsight I’ve wondered if things would be worse with a President Romney. If Romney was elected, we’d be able to figure out where the enemy was. With an Obama now back in the White House, fog and the proverbial ‘opposite day’ continues as the assaults on the New Deal and the Constitution continue, and wars of empire will go on, and as the ever increasing police state continues apace.

The Keystone XL pipeline. It’s a done deal. Bet on it. But at least he has a nice smile.

Part 2:

"This is by far not even a comprehensive list because it doesn’t include the non-regulars who do guest spots."

Considering over half of the people you named either aren't liberal or don't work/contribute to Fox News, I'd have to call bullsh!t.

"No liberal can name five regular conservative commentators on MSNBC, CNN, CBS or NBC."

Michael Steele, S.E. Cupp, Joe Scarborough, Bill Bennett, Amy Holmes, Joe Watkins, Dana Loesch, Steve Schmidt... Would you like me to keep going?

"Liberals cannot find a conservative ever on any of their programming, be it News Commentary or just the News."

Try again. I've just named 8 that currently have shows and/or regularly contribute to all of those networks.

How would you know whether those networks have Conservative commentators or not? It's not like you watch those networks. I know your kind. You suckle the Fox News teat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

"Liberals are scared of the truth."

Then why is Fox News telling so opposed to telling it? Based on the facts and history, it would seem like you've got it mixed up. Conservatives are scared of the truth.

"But it’s by far the best thing out there and they will report the truth – for the most part, about what is going on and they will present even the commentary with guests who have opinions on the other side of the matter."

Unfathomable delusion. Abject psychosis. I pity you.

"This is more proof that liberals are afraid of the truth and do not want the truth to be heard."

Considering almost everything you said is demonstrably false, you haven't provided one sliver of "proof" to prove anything you've said.

You, sir, are afraid of the truth. That is why you and your ilk have such a deep-seated aversion to telling the truth and knowing what the "truth" is.

buss (bs)

tr. & intr.v. bussed, buss·ing, buss·es

To kiss.

n.

A kiss.

[Possibly blend of obsolete bass (akin to French baiser) and obsolete cuss (akin to Middle English kissen, to kiss; see kiss), or from Scottish Gaelic bus, lips, mouth; see puss2.]

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/buss

buss - noun ˈbəs\

Definition of BUSS

: kiss

— buss transitive verb

When an ending which begins with a vowel is added to a word which ends in a single vowel plus a consonant, the consonant is doubled if the stress is on the end of the word.

In the word bus the stress is not on the consonant “s” thus:

Bus+ing = Busing

The plural of a word which ends in S, X, Z, SH, or CH is made by adding –ES, for example:

Bus ends in “s” thus:

Bus+es = Buses

Not a chance. The worst that is going to come out of Benghazi is that someone purposely changed the talking points, something that was acknowledged three weeks after it happened.

The who's...the what's...the why's will never lead to the President. Sorry. Too sad. So bad.

"Obastard is attacking Christians in any way he can through Obastard care and the military."

A totally pathetic and false statement which I debunked earlier today.

"Obastard gets wood thinking about gay professional sports figures but has NOTHING to say about the butcher Gosnell."

Gosnell has not been convicted yet and even if he is in the coming days, why would anyone think that it's the President's place to make any public statement about the man?

It's not Presidential policy to wade in on every single crime, no matter how heinous it may be.

"FOX is the only information source that addresses any of that in detail."

And why not? They are the network that conservatives love. Of course they had the details. They are feeding their viewers a steady diet of all things conservatives love to watch.

"CNN and MSNBC and NPR are so deeply inserted into the rectum of Obastard that rickroo, alpro, catcrap, 123, have almost no knowledge of those issues because they have inserted CNN and MSNBC and NPR up THEIR rectums."

You're a moron and a pathetic liar. I'm up to speed on every single thing you mentioned. Unlike yourself, I don't convict people of anything until the evidence is all sorted out.

"The only reason Bennett did this cartoon is because the TRUTH is finally going to bite Obastard on his royal Marxist ass and he is in a panic."

If we continue much further down the road with these destructive conservative policies, with the average person feeling the increasing pain of getting screwed by the rich, big business, and a government that kowtows to them, I think that it will not be difficult at all for someone to set forth a NEW New Deal for the 21st century, reestablishing the rights of the common person.

If you're an Obama voter, Obama doesn't care about you. He used you to get in power in order enact his sinister agenda, just like many other Marxist demagogues before him throughout recent history (look at Cuba, Russia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia etc., almost exactly the same pattern, and exactly the same outcome). There's no shame in admitting you were duped, as long as you wake up before it's too late. This isn't about republicans vs democrats, liberals vs conservatives, or left vs right. This is about ALL our futures! Obama is toiling hard to destabilize and CRASH the US economy, so that from its ashes he can "fundamentally transform" the United States of America just like he always said he was planning to do (only you thought it meant something else). Since coming into office, Obama has more than DOUBLED Bush's deficits after promising to cut them in half by the end of his 1st term; and with no slowdown in sight. No one is THAT incompetent unless they're seeking to intentionally derail the US economy. Pay attention to what this man DOES not what he SAYS. This will affect all of us, regardless of political affiliation. We have to stop the bickering and start focusing on our common enemy and our common interests. Will you keep being in denial about all of this until it's too late? Or are you willing to consider the possibility and start thinking for yourself instead of having someone else tell you what to believe?

All you really need to know about Leftism in 13 simple rules

1- When a Leftist says “by any means…” BELIEVE them! They have a moral compass guided by one thing. If it helps them win, it is moral.

2- Leftism is an ideology of convenience. A Leftist, or a Liberal (a Leftist in training) can change their stance on an issue depending on what party is in power. Just because Leftists wanted to kick Clarence Thomas to the curb over accusations of sexual harassment, did not mean far more serious allegations about Bill Clinton mattered to them.

3- Leftism is just another bastard child of Marxism. Leftists never wish to be called out for what they really are, which is Communists. Everything Marx believed in, they believe in. Never be fooled by their rhetoric.

4- Leftism is about one thing, control! Control of you, your earnings, your property, your kids, your rights, and certainly your thinking!

5- Leftists often use the term “power to the people”. Yet, everything they strive for seeks to dis-empower people. As Dennis Prager says the bigger the state, the smaller the individual, and the Left has yet to meet a state that is too big or an individual that is powerless enough,

6- The Left HATES your gun more than anything else. Why? Well because Leftism is all about Collectivism, and the ultimate enemy of Collectivists is Individualism. And nothing promotes Individualism more than the right to keep and bear arms. There can never be the Leftist Utopia as long as the right to keep and bear arms is in place. That right, given by the Creator, and protected by the Constitution our Founders gave us is the one liberty that all other’s hang on. The Left knows this, which is why they seek to destroy that liberty.

7- Leftists do not believe in God-given, or natural rights. They believe all right MUST come from, and be controlled by big government. God-given rights cannot be touched by government. They are as inherent to us as is our soul. The Founders listed such rights, and constrained the government from restricting those rights. The Left has been trying to undo that ever since the birth of America.

May 6, 2013 at 2:06 p.m.
joneses said...

8- Leftists seek to allow government to control individual liberty for the “common good”. To the Left, individual liberty, be it free speech, self-defense, freedom of religion, is to be trampled when it becomes a detriment to that common good. And, of course, only a Leftist government can “properly” judge what the common good is.

9- Leftists love freedom of speech, as long it they approve of it!

10- Leftists are not racists, or sexists, they are Marxists. Yes a Leftist will use racist, and sexist attacks on women and minorities when it suits them, But their motivation is not to discriminate, it is to USE those minorities to gain electoral power. And that electoral power can then be used to “fundamentally change” America.

11- The Left divides, then labels people, so as to control them. The Left uses this tactic with great effect. They have used it with women, Blacks, Hispanics, Homosexuals, Asians, the old, the young. First they convince people in a certain group that EVERYTHING in their life revolves around their sexuality, or gender or race. This allows the Left to convince any group that they must THINK as a group, or they are a traitor to that group. Next, the Left convinces these groups that Conservatives hate them, and that the only hope for their gender, sexuality, or race is to vote against the Conservatives.

12- Ignorance is the fertilizer that fuels Leftism. Leftism thrives on the uneducated. And as well on those that have been indoctrinated rather than educated. This is why Leftists always want more focus, and money for education, mandatory pre-school, and for everyone to go to college.

13- Leftists hate powerful corporations, and powerful groups like the NRA, but worship at the altar of all-powerful government. It is horrible to the Left when a health insurance company will not cover you. But, if the government dictates who gets care, and what type of care, well that is Utopia. The Left hates it when gas prices are high, and the people suffer as long as “big oil” is profiting. But if the oil industry were nationalized, and the government made all the money, and gas prices were even higher? Yes, Utopia!

Take these rules, pass them around, and never ever forget them!

The comprehensive immigration overhaul being taken up in the Senate this week could cost taxpayers $6.3 trillion if 11 million illegal immigrants are granted legal status, according to a long-awaited estimate by the conservative Heritage Foundation. The cost would arise from illegal immigrants tapping into the government's vast network of benefits and services, many of which are currently unavailable to them. This includes everything from standard benefits like Social Security and Medicare to dozens of welfare programs ranging from housing assistance to food stamps. surely there's a cheaper way to buy votes

Trying to stay within the cartoons subject:

Recently on the ‘Twittering Imbecile Show', aka ‘Fox and Friends’ they had as guest Penny Nance. (Concerned Women for America/ CWFA) Penny, being a renowned historian NOT, claimed that the ”Age of Enlightenment gave way to moral relativism which” --- wait for it --- ”led to the Holocaust”. WOW! (traditional Christian anti-Semitism didn't?) This isn’t the first time this bowel of chowder has made such a claim. And in another amazingly idiotic statement that she tied into the first, she claimed, quote: that we have "dark periods of history when we leave God out of the equation." Of course glossing over some of the darkest periods of history - Crusades, the Inquisition, religious wars were done in the name of Penny's God. But hey, it’s in the ‘interpretation.’

Rather than sit there like a potato, the little girl of the program (Steve Doocy) displayed her (his?) indignation that atheists are co-opting the ‘National Day of Prayer’ which, for right wing Christians, is almost as sacred as Christmas which, as we all know, is being openly and viciously attacked by atheists. And now in the latest attacks he implied they want to ‘force’ everyone to observe a ‘National Day of Reason’. BLASPHERS!!

What’s next for these sheep humpers? Ordain all their anchors & pundits and file for a 501c tax status? It wouldn’t be much of a hardship since, as is evident by their pent up frustration and hatred (Conservative is that you??), not many of them are getting laid anyway. Hmm - of course they’d have to dress all their ladies in nun’s habits -- but that would kill the ratings as no self-confessed conservative/Christian would tune in to listen to the opinions of stupid women (or Steve Doocy) if they weren’t showing some skin.

Fox news; Prima Facie evidence of the anti-intellectualism permeating the conservative faction of the Republican Party.

FOX is no better or worse than the other networks. None of them really do investigative work as many newspaper people used to do. The government classifications go from 16,000 to over 100,000 with the AHCA now up to 29,000 pages and growing. Yep, as Duncy said, pass it to find our what is in it. 2014 will be an eye opener and the media will report the shockers as they happen. Their position and current bias is due to their ideology and loyalty using only what someone tells them that is what they want to hear.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation and Michael L. Weinstein, are a very tolerant and reasonable civil rights organization. Their viewpoint is so valued by the civilian leadership of the Pentagon under the control of Obama appointed Def. Sec. Chuck Hagel that they appointed him as a consultant on religious tolerance.

He was invited to a meeting at the Pentagon on April 23 to share his tolerant thoughts on religion in the military and the possibility of more stringent regulation and enforcement of the 2005 policy.

The attendees complained about the prevalence of religious proselytizing in the military and almost exclusively concentrated on the Christian faiths. Joe Wilson one of the attendees stated what a chaplain’s role should be in the military “is to minister to spiritual needs. You don’t proselytize. It’s a workplace violation.”

But what do they describe as proselytizing. Here are some examples:

West Point cadet who said that after the Boston bombings, an active-duty instructor said in class that he would “bet his life on the Muslims having been behind it like they always are. It’s always the Muslims and everyone knows it, and everybody is afraid to say it. Well, I am not.”

So called “Jesus rifles,” with gun sights inscribed with Bible quotations, were used in battle by troops.

Last year, Marine officers at a U.S. base changed the name of their fighter attack squadron from “Werewolves” to “Crusaders,” with a cross and shield as an insignia.

(Note: The Navy even had a plane during the 1960’s called the F8 Crusader.)

A chaplain in Afghanistan recently was the target of a complaint for sermonizing to troops.

The Officers Christian Fellowship, in a posting on the Naval Academy’s Web site, promoted the idea of Christian officers exercising biblical leadership.

Five days of deliberation has not resulted in a verdict in the trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, the abortionist charged with four counts of first-degree murder for delivering live babies during late-term abortions and then deliberately severing their spinal cords.

Gosnell also is charged with murdering Karnamaya Mongar, 41, of Virginia, who died from a drug overdose after going to him for an abortion.

And some of you have the man convicted and are ready to hang him.

And here are a few tolerant excerpts from Mr. Weinstein's writings:

“U.S. troops who proselytize are guilty of sedition and treason and should be punished – by the hundreds if necessary – to stave off a tidal wave of fundamentalists.”

“It is a version of being spiritually raped and you are being spiritually raped by fundamentalist Christian religious predators.”

“They can be restricted from proselytizing, they are creating tyranny, oppression, degradation, humiliation and horrible, horrible pain upon members of the military.”

“Ladies and Gentlemen, let me tell you of monsters and monstrous wrongs.”

“Fight those monsters who would tear down the Constitutionally-mandated wall separating church and state”

“Incredibly well-funded gangs of fundamentalist Christian monsters who terrorize their fellow Americans by forcing their weaponized and twisted version of Christianity upon their helpless subordinates in our nation's armed forces.”

“You pitiable unconstitutional carpetbaggers”

“The senseless and cowardly squallings of human monsters.”

“Those evil, fundamentalist Christian creatures”

“These bandits coagulate their stenchful substances in organizations”

“The basis of their ruinous unity is the bane of human existence and progress.”

“Bellow mournfully like the world class cowards they are.”

“Those who would usher in a blood-drenched, draconian era of persecutions, nationalistic militarism, and superstitious theocracy.”

“If these fundamentalist Christian monsters of human degradation, marginalization, humiliation and tyranny cannot broker or barter your acceptance of their putrid theology, then they crave for your universal silence in the face of their rapacious reign of theocratic terror.”

"The path of their racism, bigotry, and prejudice."

I know. Most all lefties will wholeheartedly agree with his statements so that shows the state of affairs that presently exists on that side of tolerance line.

Yes. This guy is going to work out just fine in advancing religious tolerance in the military and I’m sure that Obama has no idea what his subordinates are doing.

And as far as your "other stations", the other media outlets reported it when the story first broke (quite a while ago). The man allegedly committed a series of horrendous crimes. The courts will determine if he's guilty and deal with it. If he did what I think he did, he performed illegal abortions (third trimester), and did a poor job of the legal abortions, resulting in injury and death to at least one woman. He will be punished if found guilty (and I have no reason to believe he won't)
