Chattanooga family of five displaced after Brainerd duplex fire

No injuries were reported in connection with a duplex fire early this morning in Brainerd.

The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 12:31 a.m. and responded to 4826 Pawnee Trail.

Half of the duplex was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, according to a news release. Everyone had successfully escaped the structure without harm.

The fire was quickly brought under control, but there was substantial damage to one side the duplex, the release said. The dollar loss was estimated at around $75,000.

Five people were displaced by the fire. Volunteers with the American Red Cross have provided victims a temporary place to stay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
