Hamilton County OK's spending $500,000 more to fix the W Road

Hamilton County Commissioners today authorized an additional $500,000 to repair Signal Mountain's W Road.

That brings the repair budget for the road to nearly $1.3 million.

Today's expense is for a new portion of the road damaged recently by heavy rain.

Officials say the additional repairs are not expected to add additional time to the road closure. It is expected to reopen in eight to 10 weeks.
