Joe Brown, a 14-year banking veteran, has been named BB&T Chattanooga market president.

BB&T said today that Brown will supervise the bank's commercial banking team in Chattanooga and be responsible for all local BB&T community and banking activities.

"The Chattanooga area is one of the most economically exciting places in America today, and BB&T's goal is to play an increasingly larger role in this area's progress."

Brown's office is in BB&T's downtown Chattanooga offices at 735 Broad Street.

The East Brainerd native joined BB&T 14 years ago. A graduate of Ooltewah High School, Brown earned his undergraduate degree in business administration, finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
