The golf course won on Friday. College players took the lead on Saturday.

And Mother Nature finished the Signal Mountain Invitational on Sunday.

The rain and accompanying threatening weather forced Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club officials to scratch all but the final two flights on Sunday morning. Then they had to cut the entire tournament down to a 36-hole event leaving second-round leader Davin White as the champion.

"I actually wanted to play," White said. "I've been on the other side, and it's not too fun."

White, a junior at Georgia State, shot a 7-under 64 on Saturday -- including a hole-in-one on No. 14 from 124 yards -- to finish the tournament at 5-under 142.

UNC Charlotte sophomore Riley Davenport finished runner-up by one stroke after shooting 3 under on Saturday.

"I wanted to win because I like winning," Davenport said. It's disappointing when you come up a shot short."

Tennessee Wesleyan sophomore Cody Godfrey and former Lee University golfer Matt Robertson finished two shots off the lead. Richard Spangler finished fifth at even par.

"The only person I'm mad at is myself," Robertson said. "I didn't take advantage of anything yesterday. I could have had a real good round."
