Gunman in 2012 shooting shot

A gunman who wounded an 18-year-old last year outside the Eastdale Recreation Center was shot twice Monday night while he was standing on a porch in the 1900 block of Walker Street, according to Chattanooga police.

Ricky C. Rogers, who is a documented Vice Lords gang member, was located by police at 800 N. Hawthorne St. at 8:44 p.m. Monday. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

In last year's shooting, Rogers was charged with aggravated assault and attempted first-degree murder. The attempted first-degree murder charge was dismissed, and Rogers received a suspended three-year sentence for a lesser charge of facilitation to commit aggravated assault.
