The 36th annual Scouts Honor Veterans Service Project will take place Saturday at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
More than 1,600 Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, volunteer leaders, family members and community supporters will participate in placing flags on the graves of 50,000 veterans interred at the cemetery.
The ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. and include a talk by a veteran, patriotic songs led by the Choo Choo Chorus and a three-volley honor salute by Vietnam veterans.
All participating Scouts will receive a patch in recognition of their service.

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is hosting a "torch light tour" of Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday at 8:45 p.m.
Historian Jim Ogden will lead the 90-minute, one-mile walking tour, reviewing the campaign of 1863 and its events through stories of those interred in the cemetery.
Participants should enter the cemetery off Holtzclaw Avenue and continue toward the old entrance arch in the southwest corner.
Wear comfortable, supportive footwear and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring water and a flashlight.
